An Invitation to Walk, Meditate and Offer Merit
The Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, which starts in St Dogmael's and ends at Amroth, east of Tenby, a mere 186 miles.
Why?
Why?
In September this year I was in St David's, Pembrokeshire, and I walked several sections of the coastal path and was, quite simply, inspired. It has been said that this Walk is second only to Machu Pichu in Peru.
I have long wanted to walk a long distance path. My father wanted to walk the Pennine Way. He died last year and I felt it was time to put these lost ambitions into action. So the walk will partly be in memory of my parents.

I also feel an immense gratitude to my Buddhist practise and the sangha of the OBC. I am particularly keen to raise awareness of Field of Merit Projectwww.fieldofmerit.org which is the inspiration of Rev's Mugo and Alicia. They hope to raise funds to set up a rural place of retreat.
The wish that planning this would bring the sangha together has already begun to happen as there are already several people who have committed to walk with me.
When?
When?
We start walking on April 24th and finish on May 10th
How can you get involved?
By joining us on the walk – for as long as you like, half a day, all day, a few days or do the whole thing with us. The amount of miles do not matter.
Those not able to take physical part will have ways in which they can 'walk alongside' those that can.
By helping with the 'blog', spreading awareness by using your own networks and contacts, just offering support and encouragement.
At specific times on each day we will be sitting in formal meditation, having looked at the Merit Board on the website first www.fieldofmerit.org/transfer-of-merit/

People following via social media and the web can sit 'with us' wherever they might be at that time.
By taking a look at the website/facebook page regularly as I will be writing something at the end of each day and sending photos so that people can be as involved as possible.
By requesting that merit be offered for people and situations by those of us that are meditating together each day.
This is not a 'sponsored walk' as I am not proposing to ask people to give money for each mile walked. It is more by way of awareness raising of the Field of Merit Project and what it stands for. If more people sign up to the Field of Merit newsletter and/or donate to the Fundraising Appeal because of finding out about the project through this walk, then I am happy about that!
If any of this sparks your interest and wish to become involved in any way then please contact me.
